LIVE COACHING SCHEDULE
The four live coaching sessions will take place on:
Sundays β January 10, 17, 24 & 31, 2027

Each session is approximately 90 minutes.
All sessions are recorded, so you can catch up if you can't attend every session live.
Weekly structure
Week 1 β Foundations: Grip, Rebound & Setup
Grip, fulcrum, rebound, ergonomics, different sticks and practice pads.
Week 2 β Stroke Mechanics & Preparation
Stroke mechanics, posture, movement, tension and relaxation, warm-ups and mobility.
Week 3 β Stroke Techniques & Control
Single and double strokes, stroke heights, dynamics, Moeller technique and different ways to produce efficient, controlled movement.
Week 4 β Putting It Together & Moving Forward
Finger and wrist techniques, classic exercises, practice ideas and recommended material β bringing the foundations together and building your next steps.
How this coaching works
This is not a self-paced online course. You can learn a lot from videos, exercises and information β but they can't see what actually happens when you pick up the sticks.
That's where live coaching becomes valuable.
Throughout the four weeks, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions, test ideas, get feedback and develop a better understanding of what is actually happening in your own playing.
There isn't one movement or technique every drummer needs to copy. My role is not to give you one βcorrectβ technique, but to help you understand the principles, recognize what is happening in your own body and make better decisions about your playing.
You still do the work. Coaching helps make sure that work is moving in the right direction.
Support between sessions
Participants will have access to a private coaching area where they can ask questions related to the sessions, discuss what they're working on and continue exploring the material between live meetings.
Tuomas will check the coaching area on weekdays throughout January and respond to coaching-related questions.
Session recordings & access
Every live session will be recorded and added to the private coaching area. Access begins when you purchase the product and remains available for 90 days starting from Jan 1, 2027. Live coaching and weekday support from Tuomas take place during January.
Your coach
Tuomas Rauhala is a Finnish drummer and educator with nearly 30 years of experience playing drums and percussion and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pop/Jazz Music Pedagogy.
His teaching focuses especially on the physics and mechanics behind drumming β how the body, sticks and instrument interact, how movement produces sound, and where unnecessary tension and effort can get in the way.
